“Nicole”

We’re “over” you Nicole.  I know that domestic landlines are a dying species, but we’ve still got one.   Our NBN package includes a landline.  The add-on package to include the cost of calls is nominal, and for us it’s more convenient to make and answer calls on this line.   But the downside is the number of nuisance calls, especially from the well-known (and notorious) “Nicole from NBN”.  This obviously automated call shows up as random numbers on the incoming call display, so we can’t block it.  

Hence, our strategy is to let any incoming call that we can’t identify go through to the answering machine.   “She” gives up as soon as she hears the “beep”.   Apologies to any legitimate caller that we don’t answer.  We’ll return your call as soon as we can.
