Sorrento

As part of our “package” at the Cape Schanck resort, we had a late checkout.    So we had a leisurely breakfast, and then had time for a coffee in the lobby lounge before departing.   We headed to Sorrento.  S checked out the main street – not many people around and very windy, but still some opportunities for “retail therapy”.  I walked to the back beach – even windier.  The tide was in and there was lots of  “froth” on the waves.

We then had a very relaxing lunch at The Baths.    The view from our table by the window, over the bay, was everything the website promises, and we watched the Queenscliff ferry arrive and depart.   But it was much smaller than usual!   I now see from the website that one of the regular ferries is in for maintenance.   I  guess this has to be done at times, and it certainly makes sense to do it at this time of year.

We took the coastal route back to Mornington, stopping for a coffee at Kirks, and then headed via the freeway for home.
