Rickett’s Point

We caught up with friends for lunch at the Rickett’s Point Tea house.   It’s all pretty casual, but they did a good job with the “pie of the day” and “sweet potato rice salad”.   The calamari looked good, too.   You can get a beer or glass of wine there, which is nice.   After lunch, we enjoyed a stroll on the beach.  The tide was out, and the day was calm and fine – a pleasant autumn day.

If you can park on the street, parking is free, but in the foreshore car parks, it’s $5.60/hour (3 hour cap, allows all day parking).   Residents in the Bayside council area get a permit allowing them to park for free.   Not very welcoming to non-Bayside residents, I thought, but presumably the Council wears the cost of maintaining the foreshore, so on this basis, perhaps there’s some justification?

Oh, and watch out for cyclists on Beach Road!
