Bateman’s Bay

After attending the Slava at the Monastery, we headed to Bateman’s Bay.    We had a quick coffee stop at Bungendore but didn’t feel compelled to spend time looking around the various “old wares” on offer.

IMG_2280I was pleasantly surprised to see that quite a lot of work has been done in recent times on the road down the escarpment.

It’s still a bit of a challenge, of course, but the road is in good condition and the imposition of appropriate speed limits meant that the traffic was well-behaved (at least, for the duration of our trip).

IMG_2308We always like Bateman’s Bay, especially the riverside walk.   There weren’t too many people around which perhaps helped.   We ate at the Soldiers’ Club, and were happy with the food:   plain, perhaps, but perfectly adequate.
