Blue Train

It’s been a few years since we’ve been to Blue Train at Southbank.  Previously, it was pretty casual and (as I remember it) “good value”.

It’s now located on the first level of the Southgate building, in an area with somewhat more foot traffic than previously.    We went there for a late lunch after visiting the Hermitage exhibition (more about this in a future post).   Things were quiet (unlike the queues which we’ve seen when passing by at weekends) and we had a choice of tables with a view out over the river (but there doesn’t seem to be a deck).

One of us a burger and the other had pumpkin salad with optional added chicken.  It was all nicely prepared and very satisfactory, although I think prices have crept up just a little  in the new location.  However, you get a view and it’s a premium location, so we’re not complaining about that.
